Dungeon Defenders Inspired game

@The_KWASM Well I am doing the materials that drop form the enemies RN so you could do the other 2 defences on the wheel i mentioned yesterday (with me doing the sprites)

We also could use some different enemy types as well as some stuff for the enviroment

Can we have the flame-thrower on a different class? it kinda doesn’t fit with the Paladin, The light thing is cool, maybe another celestial tower? Also I wanted to add a Valkyrie class, which would in my mind also be focused on light, but we can change anything.

Does the wheel work for you? Because it doesn’t place anything when I click it, It stops at something in the code.

  1. Yes Flamethrower can be for another task

  2. Valkyrie Class sounds epic I’m in

  3. The wheel doesn’t work because I coded in the resources to be needed

Right on, The male equivalent can be Viking, but I’m only playing Valk. Also I think they should have a double Axe

I agree with the Double Axe bit but they should also have a sword too, and maybe try not to do the viking but just a male Valkyrie.

Classes So Far:

  • Paladin

  • Valkyrie

  • Warlock

  • Rouge

Okay, I finally contributed to the game and finished the walls. I replaced all of the purple default walls with it and I think it looks pretty good except for the entrances (Which I might need to make a few custom walls for those, but I think there was like 3 objects left so I just finished up there.) I have an 8 sat up using the walls cause thats an outline I use when making them so I don’t have a wall missing and everything seems to work out.
The Top-T Junction wall is missing some stone textures on the top part (which I’ll get to later) but it shouldn’t be much of a nuisance.
Let me know what you think.

Also I don’t know what you plan on using for the background. The full grass block kinda doesn’t get covered by the vertical wall so I don’t know if the map outside the level gets covered or we might have to make semi full background sprites. Not sure what you guys planned on doing so I just stuck with the walls.

Some of the vertical walls haven’t been placed yet since there was some text in the way and I didn’t want to mess it up to replace the purple wall sprites so I’ll lead that up to you, lol.

Sorry for late reply @ManiacPumpkin Everything currently looks awesome really well done. I’m quite occupied with the game and what I personally have to do so I may not have a list fo ideas ready that need doing.

Basically good job, I might not tell you to do anything until I’ve finished a certain aspect of the game, but very good job, the bricks look excellent. Maybe @The_KWASM can suggest other things you could help with.

Okay sounds good. I will finish some of the stone textures and add some gates for the enemy entrances so that way the walls don’t connect to pink blocks, lol.

how about a smith or mechanic class

Maybe @GGSTUDIOS a Steampunker Class? Main weapon - Industrial Sword, Alt Weapon - Mechanical gun. He has more industrial defences, obviously.

Can you make a natural set of walls? like a brown rock set?, it’ll look better with the terrain if we have the combination.

I don’t know i’d I can make an entire new set since it does require a lot of sprites and time, but I could go ahead and update the current one to make it more natural, but what exactly what do you mean by making it natural? Just make the rocks more brownish looking or more vegetation line vines and moss?

Don’t worry @ManiacPumpkin I think he means a wall set that resembles a wall made of dirt, and I can do it no problem

Oh okay, you can make a copy of the current set and just color them. When do you plan on starting up a menu? I could start on it if you want. Except you might have to make the menu title and choose a menu theme since I don’t know what your going for.

Sorry for late reply @ManiacPumpkin but I will probably do my own set instead of recouloring yours because that makes the two sets look a lot different.

As for the menu I want to do the main menu and the title screen, but you could start work on an options menu and a level select.

Also, I actually have things you would help with (Additionally). That sliding problem that keeps stopping my animations is getting on my nerves to please feel free to fix that or we could use a pause menu that appears when you pause the game with a pause button.

can the level select be a world map? I love maps, plus it makes the world feel a lot more real. Traveling to different places protecting relics is much better, if you know the terrain before you get there.

Sorry for another late reply but heck yeah that would be wicked @The_KWASM ! I can do art for the map.

Okay, I started working on a new code for the walking and I think this one seems to be working out okay. I used pretty much the same code, but I made it so when you start using the W, A, S, D keys the arrow keys will be removed from the code so you only use the wasd keys. Same goes for the arrows, if you use them then the wasd will be removed so its like a toggle, plus I think it had something to do with the sliding since you had two sets of movement keys attached I think the system got confused or something. Since there are two sets of movement bundles in the characters code, it seems to work really well, but I’m having animation troubles for the walking seems to not stop if I walk up, which is an easy fix. I’ll let you know when its done so you can swap them out.

Do the goblins get stuck in the middle for you guys? Seems the pathfinding is having trouble still.
