i watched disney channel once. stared at it having no idea what was going on because it was sometime during the 2010s and the highest age i reached in that decade was 7 so i was 7 or lower (most likely lower). back then i was mostly unaware of a lot of things and channels like that were unknown territory so i didn’t pay attention. did i mention i was a stupid kid

He said, “did I mention I ”was” a stupid kid” which implied the past tense of his mental or self proclaimed state, although as time progressed to the current, his mentality has probably evolved and therefore he doesn’t claim to be under that title.
Never did he claim to be stupid in the current, only in the past.

Like how some of use had made stupid decisions or acts on the past, but our history alone doesn’t define us, as you can choose to learn from such actions and therefore be more wise in your current actions or behavior.
