Performance does seem to be an issue with other people too, but I am making the game for myself and it could not work any better on my device
that’s actually a pretty good mindset
Maybe at this level
I don’t get annoyed at people. I simply pointed out a problem. Taking criticism isn’t a bad thing. I realized I have a bad computer, but that doesn’t give people a reason to say they have bad code (not saying your code is bad agent y).
I do realize that for some reason you have a dislike towards me, and I’m sorry for that, but I only ever try to help in what I’m saying. I am on the blunter side, but I was mostly do this with agent y because he is also quite blunt. I don’t think he would like me to sugar coat something
idk, i’ll disappear from this topic forever now
Okay I got rid of the useless grass code, and grass will need collision though once I make it so it can get cut or removed
You both have a point but no one is right here, there’s a reason why you have to fill out system requirements when you want to put a game on steam for example. Optimization is good, but only to the point of what you want the game to run on. Code is usually fine as long as the user knows how to use it, but a big problem with not using organization and bundles is it really hurts if you want to ask for help or try to look for a bug somewhere. Even “forgotten” code can bite you in the butt later.
My best suggestion for standards is 8GB of RAM on the Firefox browser. Chrome uses 4GB of ram alone a lot of the time trying to run games on Flowlab, and OperaGX has the opposite problem where it doesn’t want to run intense games because it force restrictions on how much ram it will use.
And for optimization, going too far will reach optimization hell. Where you end up redoing everything to get the best performance you can. Trying to get all the Dell sponsored games to work on iPhone 5 through the browser was an experience. Remaking one of the games from scratch because NO raycasts could be used to make it run.
I use Opera GX and it works perfectly, you even with the ram and cpu limiters
I seem to be the only person that can run my game at the highest framerate
I use Opera GX too and it runs fine for me, but specifically said entesive games. Like you will see OperaGX slowing down when it comes to those 3D game projects on Flowlab with tons of raycasts. My other browsers for comparison doesn’t slow down for those intesive games.
…is that how it works? I don’t think it does
Would maybe playing games be effected by internet speed? Or does the game load entirely at the beginning of playing it with the specific internet speed?
Cause if the game is running slower it could be a slower internet than actual device, but I could be wrong on this since I don’t directly know how internet speed effects flowlab’s loading.
Everything is loaded at the start and then pushed into ram to play the game.
If there were internet issues, there would be missing assets (red blocks) or the game wouldn’t load at all.
If it was a multiplayer game with internet issues, then the game would still be loaded and you would be kicked/disconnected from the multiplayer connection (but the game would still be loaded and running).
Baron is right, that’s absolutely not how it works. But I’ll give the meme a pass because it’s one of my favorite formats
No wonder Alpaca can’t play it, they have like 2GB of ram… a normal operating system already uses more than that without anything else running
Yeah, I really should just get a new computer. Anyways, what do you plan on adding to the game weapon-wise? Will every character just have 1 starting weapon, or will you be able to get new ones during the match (Via item boxes, kills, etc)
(Sorry for the ping @Agent_Y, I just edited my message and I’m assumed you probably didn’t see it)
That’s what I’m saying
For now I’m just thinking of having each character have their own singular unique weapon
Made it so you stay facing the same direction when shooting, which will let players shoot while running backwards
Character number 2’s weapon is also mostly functional now
can you rotate weapons 360 degrees like Gamougg?
