I’m putting a ton of names in the credits, so why not:D
heheh, also i have a song for the boss i call “rupert strike back”
here it is, rupert strike back, i tried to make it sound intimidating lol
you can upgrade it or whatever
@rcreger i like to put in a pixel signiture into the ccredits im in, gimme a sec
Hey - sounds good. Just please keep in mind that I can only implement what fits, so if you do want something added, it will likely be altered from what you present here versus what will be in the game. Also note some things might not be able to be added depending on the scope.
Just wanted to say this before things could get possibly carried away lol the project is already set to be very big, at least for Flowlab standards.
Do you have a link to the game SOL? Or is it not out yet?
it wont be out for a while, but once it does…oh the speedruns and lets plays
@rcreger your on!
SOL - RANDOM UPDATE
I had a goal of starting work on the hit point system on enemies, but got a few random things done instead lol:
- Added a cool, minor effect that gives lighting more texture on the ground sprites depending on how close it is to a light source.
- Fixed another mouse position v player position attack sprite-flip issue when trying to speed-attack,
- Added interaction animations with some of the roof tiles - these were fun to do.
- Fixed an issue where the “glitch” shader would play when hitting the escape key.
Nothing really particular. You can tell by this update that it was all over the place. However, I plan to get work done for the hit points starting tomorrow, and is the last planned update until the next dev log video:D
So, thanks for tuning in!
Cheers!
I have an old cancelled version in my bookmarks
Flowlab Game Creator - SOL - 2021 Demo (Cancelled)
It requires a really powerful computer. My computer can handle most games on Flowlab, but it can barely run this one with all the particles, epic lighting, and who knows what else.
bro the lag i got
Yeah, this one lags a ton especially when starting it up. Will say that it is very much improved compared to this. Had some testing from other team members as well, so it should run decent if you have something at least better than a chrome book. Should be even better through download.
SOL - HEALTH AND PARTICLE UPDATE
As planned, got the health system for enemies (Rupert, specifically) started up and basically done, along with some nice and snazzy particles:D
- Added a “spark” particle when hitting an enemy - dynamic and changes direction depending on which side you hit.
- Added an animation to the spark, adds another layer of movement.
- Added a health system for Rupert - he has 3 hits.
- On the first hit, his bucket flies off his head as another particle, also changes depending on where you hit Rupert. This particle is specific for Rupert.
- The third hit destroys the dummy object.
- Added particles for speed attack to give it more of a power feel.
- Some minor fixes here and there, mostly a few things with Rupert’s damage detection.
Mission success! Although I am slightly embarrassed to say that the spark particles took quite a while to nail down the direction, but I think they look nice as a base, might add another layer of particles to beef it up, maybe on the killing blow.
Mentioning that, still need to do death particle for Rupert specifically, but it will serve as a base that should be easy to implement into other enemy health systems and FX.
Thanks for tuning in!
Cheers!
Woohoo! Great work
Thank you, dino:D Been kinda procrastinating this one, so glad to get it out of the way.
Anyways, gotta go to work in 7 hours…
Yep, I’m doing something at 9:30am and for some reason I’m choosing to go to bed at 2am… I’m so smort
Very much indeed.
Particles make every game better.
