Not really an explanation, hard to explain.
Nice models, did you make them yourself?
I’m also planning on making an example later
Yep, made them myself.
After playing around with sprite stacking for 4 hours I figured out how to make the models.
It was frustrating but I watched a ton of videos on sprite stacking and softwares to make them. Ended up using flowlab in the end though lol
Working on something a lot bigger right now.
Totally not a skyscraper-
Seeing Faxdoc’s tweets is what got me to look more into it.

Anyways, I’m almost done with the example and just looking for more models.
As well I’m looking into making a better system to do this at the moment.
ooo they’re really cute! you might want to increase the sprite offset by a bit so you can get a better view angle on the objects
Yeah, I was just about to do that too.
I recommend using A*4
But also if the offset is too long, you get separated disconnected layers.
For more angles, the layers would have to be redrawn to suit the angle.
You get about a 45’ angle before it needs to be redrawn
Yeah, I might just use the separate floating layers as a piece to piece for my pyramid.
Somebody should make a top down shooter with this
People are doing sprite stacking, so imma go ahead and try it for myself.
Coming soon: A new example demonstrating really bad 3d stacking…
Woah, sprite stacking is really easy
I’m going to create a police chase game through a city.
Might even sneak procedural generation into it haha
I’m gonna make a top down GTA ripoff
here’s my progress so far
good luck-
Neat, it might be a difficult task making hit boxes for everything, good luck though!
This looks really cool. The sprites are really nice, much better than anything I can comprehend.
Thanks, I’m working on some type of car, though I suck at anything other than minor objects and characters.
