Judging Criteria

Developers who submit a game will rate the entries from other participants!

  • Art How does the game look and sound
  • Fun How fun the game is to play
  • Theme How well the game adhered to and used the theme

 Curious about previous Flowjams?

Check out our video about Flowjam and how it works! Note that the dates in this video refer to the previous Flowjam that happened in December 2023 → January 2024.

:eyes: Tips to make your entry more appealing

  1. Screenshot or make an Interesting Cover for your game. This will lead more eyes to your submission. (P.S.: Make sure the most important things like the title of your game and the main subject aren’t cropped.)
  2. If your game doesn’t have a tutorial, leave all the controls in the description in a clear way.
  3. Add background music and sounds. Audio is extremely important to the feel of your game.
  4. Add a menu or title screen to make the game feel more polished and complete
  5. Add a background. You can change the background color on the “Game Levels” Panel.
  6. If you have an upgraded account, you can use the “Edit Page Theme” button to make it more personal.

We hope to play & create awesome Games alongside you all soon! :blue_heart:

Press the big “Join jam” button on the Itch.io page & join our Flowlab Discord Community to keep up with Game Jam updates & chat with other Devs! See you there!

No no no.

There are 2 Jams a year, remember? Winter, at the start of the year, and summer, in the middle of the year.
Also, why does Kai have an extended neck?

I think it looks like Kai’s neck is extended because of the shoulder accessory creating a bit of a gap that would be covered up by it normally, but with Kai’s pose I guess you can see some more of his neck.

As for the image, oops. I think I should change it to 5 years and 10 jams. My thought process though was that Flowlab has been around for about 10 years and this is the 10th jam, so it made sense to me that way

:palm_tree: The Summer Flowjam 2024 has started!

NOTE: This Flowjam will be hosted on Itch.io This means that the process will be a little bit different than previous jams. Will it be better? Worse? Just the same? I have no idea - this is an experiment! Let me know what you think

  1. Go to the jam page here: Summer Flowjam 2024 (Steam Deck Prize!) - itch.io

Flowlab’s existed for more than 10 years

Sadly, my game will be unfinished by the Flowjam deadline.

I added auido and a small part of a playable level to give a sneak peek on what the game would’ve been like if I’d had more time.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

I missed your Livestream, @sup3r87, sorry.

I was wondering, how many of the participants actually submitted a game? -how many people missed the deadline?

Here is the link to my game, if you still want to play it.
