Didn’t I just review this one?
idrk i dont think you did?
I put some slightly invisible parkour blocks in the campaign for test runs, I’ll make them full-transparent once I’m done. It just provides a quick way to get to the end of the level.
Ok, once I finish, I’ll be sure to send the link again.
If you can, please send a screenshot of the mixels and I’ll take a look, I’m not a fan either.
He has two games called Glow.
Tank Arena by @jake
First thing I notice is the game size is way too big. Make it smaller and just add fullscreen. The game size makes the pixels too small to really see. The camera is off on the main menu, it isn’t centered properly. Also, the menu music sounds too elevatory… you need something more militaristic.
As for the gameplay, the tank motion is incorrect, the tank should only be able to move forward and backwards then spin… it shouldn’t move left or right. Also, the turret is what is supposed to spin separately from the treads. Lastly, there needs to be objectives in the game (i.e. pick up items, kill all enemies, that sort of thing, etc.)
Theme: I expected tanks and I got tanks… but that’s not enough. I need some back story here, is there a war, are there aliens? 3/5 stars
Fun: With incorrect tank movement this game feels off. Also, also some of the enemies are stuck and you can’t get to them. 2/5 stars
Artwork/Sound: The artwork is a good start, but some of it is too flat, and some have different size pixels. You need to add more aggressive militaristic music as well. The tank needs to be to objects: the treads and the turret gun. 2/5 stars
Creativity: There is nothing new in this game yet, but you still have a ton of potential if you can redesign the tank motions and animations. 1/5 stars
Overall: The first things to fix are the game size and the tank motions. Then add some objectives and let us know why were attacking these enemies. This is a great start, keep working at it. 2 stars
Next up is Zombie Invasion and Glow Vortex
Nice review although I personally liked the different tank movement. Its unrealistic for sure, but more fun to me since ALL of the other tank games Ive ever played on Flowlab use the same exact movement, which also annoys me and doesnt feel nice. So i like jake’s tank game a lot for the movement alone.
Sorry if this sounds too selfish, I just wish to present another perspective.
Not at all, this is an open forum for discussion of any game being review here.
Zombie Invasion by @Pixel_Name1
I really liked this game, the thick-black-outlined-blocky-classic art style are quite interesting. The music and screen effects are also fun and enjoyable. Sometimes the staticy screen effect can pull away from the game and make it feel too busy, but not in this case… the player damage effect is really nice.
The main menu is fun, I like the opening animation of the hand coming up from the dirt. The issue I have is you offer a mouse but you can’t click on anything but the patch notes, we should be able to click on the “start” or “score” buttons, instead of using the left and right buttons.
The gameplay is nice and smooth. The ability to pick up new weapons, health packs, and fix the “doors” works really well. It might be fun to add some more objectives to break up some of the repetitiveness.
Theme: The game promises zombies and zombies it what is delivers. 5/5 stars
Fun: This game is fun, it’s similar to other zombie games but this one seems to function a bit better than most. 4/5 stars
Artwork/Sound: The artwork is intentionally simple but also really good. And the music and sounds fit the game perfectly. 4/5 stars
Creativity: This game is similar to others, but it works very well and jumping back and forth from killing zombies and fixing the doors makes its repetitiveness not boring at all. 4/5 stars
Overall: I really liked this game, I thought it was really well programmed and the simple art style is very enjoyable. 4.25 stars
The next game will be Glow Vortex
@Bmarzi, I fixed the Game Flow bug, now my game works just fine. Would you mind reviewing this game? I finished the first level, the second one is underway, but still not playable.
Glow Vortex by @hi4250five
This game is visually nice but not supper fun yet because there is nothing to do. It’s hard to fully rate this game because it’s not remotely finished… that being said I like it so far.
The opening cut scene is really cool, but I would rearrange everything, start with the infinity symbol and your logo. Then the “Glow Vortex” logo (which is a bit flat artistically) should transition into a main menu that looks like your opening cutscene… and when you click play the cutscene begins. Also, you need to add a back story for a game like this.
The artwork is minimalistic and the glow feature is really cool. I would adjust the bridges to be the single solid white line, then attach the glow feature to have the player fall to the center and the glow surrounds the player just like the regular ground. Does that make sense? Also, the gun is too big for the player, I would make it smaller. I really enjoy the explosion, it’s extremely cool looking. The music seems a strange fit, but the gun and explosion sounds seem to tie it all together.
Theme: Title says “glow” and the game has glowing features, but we need some back story, whats going on and why? 3/5 stars
Fun: The game has potential, but currently has nothing to do. Add some enemies and objectives. 2/5 stars
Art/Sound: I really enjoy the simple artwork juxtaposed with the glow features (especially the explosions), along with the music and sound effects it all works well together. I had a thought about the glow on the ground actually glowing, it might look really cool. 3/5 stars
Creativity: Currently there is nothing new or different about this game, but it has a lot of potential and with the addition of enemies and other objects could be something really fun. 2/5 stars
Overall: This game is a great start… make a main menu to help give the game a more completed feel. Add something for the player to do and find a way to make this game different from everyone else’s. 2.5 stars
Vironia Saga by @JUSTPLAINOP is next up…
Vironia Saga by @JUSTPLAINOP
Your story is confusing… Mesopia? Vironia? Voras? Aldestria? Which is it??? You’re like Peter Jackson with all these ridiculous names and places. Simplify your story, why is player a spider? The spider race should be named something arachnidy. The Red dwarves look like dwarves, so good job there.
Let’s start with the main menu, the logo background and buttons should be same color. Great job using same font throughout the game. Continuity is key, so I would change the “AGA” to the same font. Also, you’re using different pixel sizes…
Also, you’re using different art styles and the background art is different pixel size. We can see the square behind the character as well. I really like the white outline around the dwarves, I think that a white outline on all the characters would like cool. The glowing effect around the flames is nice but it needs to flicker faster… and the “HEALTH” HUD label should be lowercased like the others.
As for gameplay you need to add arrow keys to the movement, and add “F” for fullscreen. The bad guys back away and fall into the spike pits and prevents them from attacking you, and the shoot rate for the bad guys prevents you from being able to shoot them straight on, I could jump and shoot them but other options are needed. Lastly, you have to add music and sound… obviously.
Theme: The words “Vironia” and “Saga” added to the main menu make me think knights and kingdoms, but the story makes it sound sci fi. So you need to figure out what the theme is and make everything fit it. 2/5 stars
Fun: Currently the game is very generic with not much to do and no direction. Redo the enemies and add other dangers like projectiles or something. 2/5 stars
Art/Sound: The art styles are different, you need to pick one style, either outline or not. Also, make sure all the pixel sixes are the same. Most importantly add music and sounds. 2/5 stars
Creativity: The game is simple so far, and not very original, but the opening story is quite good, a bit confusing… find a way to tie everything together. 1/5 stars
Overall: The game is a good start, but needs some obvious changes. To start, you have to add sounds and music. The art style needs to be unified, and the theme and story need to be consistent and used to tie all aspects of the game together. Keep working on it. 1.75 stars
That’s it for now, which is good because it allows me to get back to my own projects.
Oh, you want the map? I totally forgot that everyone on earth but me doesn’t know all of the Vironian Countries and city-states.
Vora, the name is Vora.
Yeah, I did the menu hastily, I was excited to get to the game.
I’ll keep that in mind.
Ok, I’ll change that too.
Thats me and Braden, lol.
Ok.
Music and Sound effects were literally on our To-Do list for this week.
It’s a complex nation, the Vora. The tech is advanced, but it’s not invasive, unlike earth.
The air enemies should give a challenge, but I’ll keep that in mind.
Ok, I’ll send this to my team. I think we should get to these changes immediately. Thanks for the review @Bmarzi!

finally another reviewer who gives honest feedback
no one gets mad at him though because i usually go too far
Nah, for me, nothing’s ever too far, as long as the review is helpful. Yes, his reviews will help a BUNCH. If I didn’t know these things, the game would’ve come out quite badly.
yeah but back when i did reviewing people tried starting arguments with me multiple times
unsurprisingly those people never got far as instead of listening to advice they denied it
I’m sorry; I add animations now. Thank you for your reviews so much.
What animations did you add? I want to check them out.
try my Game Flowlab Game Creator - Spore Tower Defense its fun Polished and still a work in Progress so give it a try i need helpful advice
@Bmarzi are you still reviewing??
Yes I am… I’ll play it soon.
