to give a sense of scale, here’s the default mech compared to a human and cube.

Why are they so big?

Four words. Giant epic robot battles.

I’ve really gotta get to work on the torsos

When you do, see if you can make them look more visually distinct from each other, they kinda blend together rn with the exception of the light chassis.

Wow, I think that’s much bigger than the Mechs from AC.

In AC6 the mechs are about 3-4 stories tall iirc.

so it’s about the same size actually.
(ACFA stands for Armored Core: For Answer, the sequel to AC4 and prequel to AC5)

OH MAN! I had no idea, lol. I just thought they were about the size of a Mantis.

For those who don’t know, the Mantis is a bipedal no arms mech from Halo 4 and 5 that I really think should return.

It’s one of the best Vehicles of the game.

Agreed. I need more Mantis reqs for Halo 5.

I need more Mantis toys in real life, like Halo mega blok. fffffff halo 5 go to heck!! :rage:

Here’s how I imagine the different parts:

HEADS:

  • LHD-JET2: Kronos’ successor to the JET model with improved defensive stability.
  • HD-BRIC: Incredibly high defensive specs at the cost of all else.

CHASSIS:

  • CH-104: 4th generation Praxis chassis with reduced weight without compromising defence.

LEGS:

  • LBP-101: Continuation of Praxis’ biped line which cuts back on other stats for improved mobility.
  • HRJ-SCYTHE: Heavy reverse-jointed model made by Kronos. Superb stability, at the cost of cooling performance and energy efficiency.
  • LQP-101: Quadruped model specced for scouting by Praxis. Incredibly lightweight and agile.
  • LTK-102: Praxis tank tread model designed with increased mobility in mind.

ARM WEAPONS:

MBRF-STARDUST/LV: Burst energy rifle employing both laser and void technology. A devastating work of art made by the minds at industry newcomer Nova.

Here’s how I imagine the different parts:

HEADS:

  • LHD-WATCHER: Gren decided to appeal to a younger demographic by creating a helmet that has all the things they think they’d like: two extra video screens with a comedy show and a mobile game installed in case the battle gets “boring ahh hell”, government spyware, and the ability to increase “frame rate” and visual fidelity on the fly.
  • HD-RIDERR: Adds increased vehicle proficiency as well as an automatic energy shifter module that shifts energy between different parts of the mech to optimize it and increase its speed.

CHASSIS:

  • CH-DARKGENERAL: Powerful chassis with increased durability that includes a cloak made of tank tread materials, which can be transformed by the pilot to attach [the treads] to any exterior limbs, allowing those limbs to roll like a tank. For example, if your mech’s legs are blown off and you need to use your chassis as a makeshift tank legs by lying the chassis flat on its back and rolling it like that, you can.

LEGS:

  • LBP-MUSCLE: Someone at Praxis watched and read a bizarre work of art and got inspired, let’s say.
  • HRJ-ORBITER: Reflective reverse-jointed model made by Kronos. Rather basic specs, but has the special quality of being very shiny so it hurts people’s eyes if they look at it for too long. It also confuses and/or slows down enemy machines’ sight.
  • LQP-ARACHWALLER: Quadruped model with double the amount of legs, designed to be able to climb walls effectively.
  • LTK-ROLLOUT: Tank tread model built to be unstoppable and swift.

ARM WEAPONS:

VE-WGLER: Void energy sword employing both laser and void technology. A deadly blade made with the souls of the scum of the World Wide Web containing every bit of hatred within.

These don’t really sound serious, and the tank chassis idea isn’t gonna work since there’s no part break.

? Some of them have thinly veiled random references but they’re still not joking suggestions.

Aw man. Maybe it could be part broken with animations? But that would be complex perhaps. Maybe it could have some other feature or stats cuz the cloak of tank treads is badass.

Honestly, part break is just an annoyance from a pure game design standpoint. You’re essentially punishing tankier builds by them having to re-buy all their broken parts after every mission.
