K I will also Dm you the game link so we can strategize.

I can help you with different elements in the game as I would with anyone, but I’m not going to be in any short of team because I don’t really have the time for it and it would be unfair to the rest of the competition

Alright I guess I will try to figure out the rest of the elements but at the same time I am competing around people who have more experience than me, so you have a fair point. Mabey after the competition ends, we can continue working on it and we can make the game better.

Technical Difficulties

Um How do I do that?

You would need to do something like what JR did. I tried to make a quick little mock-up version, but it didn’t work properly (the movement was annoying). If I spent more time learning how it actually worked I could do it, but the easiest thing would just be for JR to explain it to you and then implement that knowledge.

Should I Dm JR and see what he could do and send him the project you sent me?

@JR01 I was wondering if you could Dm me and help me with a 3D project like you did with your cool wizard game Code Alpaca and I were experimenting, but the problem was that the movements were not working correctly I will Dm you the game he sent me but if you could help me it would be amazing!

So you want to do 3D similar to The Witch in the Woods?
It’s very technical and you need an understanding of calculus to understand it within the 2 weeks time you have. I was even learning more about how it works as I was finishing up the boss fight lol, I also realized I implemented the 3D effect wrong and just made a bunch of workarounds because of it.

It involves a lot of work even if you know what you are doing, I can’t really suggest it without having an idea of how it works. If you try this, I really suggest just make in a circle, like a top-down rotating camera rather than trying to have everything move around in an ellipse shape like in my game. Below are some tests and links that can help get started, but understanding how it works is the important part.

2D Camera rotation sounds like it does the job I will consider trying that!!!

Don’t worry JR I will take the proper action and add you into the credits

The rotating camera example is very similar to how Witch in the Woods works, there is an invisible top-down game with collision and movement, and then there is a fake world on top that makes the world rotate and make 3D.
