@ManiacPumpkin so apparently @Jefferson-Bobby is the overseer of site 01… did you allow that or did she just randomly take over?
To be honest, I haven’t seen that before until now, lol.
I don’t mind, but in the book series every facility has their own fictional overseer. Technically, I’m not even an overseer, just a funny title I used for the forums.
oh, that honestly makes more sense! @ManiacPumpkin btw the reason I haven’t been as active today, is because I have been cleaning my room.
it would be cool if you were a part of the lore.
I was playtesting the first boss fight of the game when I was thinking about the players attack mechanics. I’m considering removing the heating mechanic of the players primary attack and maybe add secondary abilities with cooldowns. Which can be found and upgraded while exploring the map.
It definitely adds some challenge to the game, but I feel it’s more annoying than really making the game difficult. I may decrease the attack speed slightly and remove the heating and cooldown entirely so you can consistently attack.
Currently the attack does upgrade the more shards you collect from killing enemies, but I don’t know if this saves between levels or has much of a difference. Basically, allowing more bullets to be shot before heating up and decreasing cooldown, but I think starting off with low attack speed and then slowly building it up would be more efficient.
I probably won’t change it yet since I want to hear from you all who read these if this would be a better option. In the meantime, I’m going to finish the bossfight and work on polishing up a demo for the game to be at least playable. I may add a custom code into the game and anyone who wants to playtest can play past the demo, but I’ll have to see how this goes and only a select number of users will be accepted for this, since I do need a reliable and descriptive reviewer.
I think it would be a good idea dude!!!

why hello there John. I followed you on bandlab fyi
Been adding some more progress to the game. Mostly working on the first boss at the moment and some UI stuff.
Once I figure it out, the game will be closed to the public until further notice. The game isn’t going to change much, but I’m working on a huge content update and either release the game into chapters or release a demo.
I know not too many people have probably played this game or know much on what it’s about, but what would be some content you would like to see? Which can include anything from enemy/boss types, mechanics, or even environmental things in the game.
The game is being aimed mostly towards a Metroidvania style game with an expansive map, hidden lore, and (hopefully) a lot of enemies and puzzles. So far, I don’t really have a lot, just been polishing up a lot of smaller stuff and finishing the first boss that you encounter.
Also this game may not seem like it, it is a continuity of the Scepter Foundation line, although it’s kind of categorized more on it’s own. Most of my Facility style games that I’ve made on here were either from flowjams or just half thrown together and never finished. I may dismember The Heuchler as the game’s main mechanic is kind of scuffed and doesn’t seem all that enjoyable. Maybe I might incorporate this into another game. Since Flee was featured and seemed to be very popular at the time, I do want to upgrade it at some point or just lengthen the game a bit. Still have no clue how it got 4th during that flowjam when it wasn’t one of my better projects, but I don’t think a lot of people participated that jam. Since it was featured, I’m now cursed to polish it up at some point.
The Site: 012 Incident, formally known as The Facility, was among my largest projects alongside Refraction currently. It’s not dead, but I lost a bit of motivation when I was wanting to pursue random generation for the map, but in its current state, would take quite a bit of time to figure it out, so I may release a smaller and scuffed version of the game while a more polished rng version will be in the works, but right now, I want to finish at least one game, so I’m putting most of my time into Refraction.
I also plan to pick a handful of people to be select beta testers. Mostly because I don’t want the game’s progress entirely public, but I would also want some feedback from the community. Although since this community is relatively small, I may only pick 1-2 people, maybe a 3rd if need be. Either message me on here if you would be interested or send me a private message.
this game is one of my favorite flowlab games. @ManiacPumpkin you are one of the flowlab greats.
