I like this idea of an anonymous health system! Perhaps if you get some sort of small wound, you can visibly see a scratch on your screen, like in the UI, maybe?
Also, perhaps the medkit contains some sort of anti-psychotic meds that undo mental effects caused by the entities? I mean, it’s in a facility full of these entities, so one would think that somebody would have the bright idea to put some sort of remedy for the ailments they cause into the medkits, right?
I think a health system would be pretty cool. Maybe for an item a super-condensed rock that was theorized to have been formed from entity 003 (Either by the sheer weight of being crushed, or some other reason). Not sure how it would be useful, but it’d be interesting.
Well, I meant like a small little scratch in like the corner or something, but I definitely see your concern, lol. That wouldn’t be too obstructing, would it?
I wanted to do something similar to what SCP Containment Breach did and have the screen slowly darken meaning you are dying. When the screen is completely black you basically just died.
I could also make the corners of the screen somewhat red or something to show that you have taken on small damage, but not severe enough to actually kill you.
Also for those who enjoy datamining, feel free to check out the half updated menu I have in place. It took a few extra objects than what I was wanting, but I think it looks pretty cool, and creepy.
I would send a screenshot, but I’ve been having trouble signing into the forums on my computer so I’ve been messaging through my phone. Which is why I don’t lung regularly cause it’s a hassle to get that up and going.
You could technically handmake a glitch filter and overlay it over the game, and then use animations to make it look “glitchy”. Idk if you’d want to put in all that extra work, though.
There is already a health bar and stamina bar, but I moved them out of the screen cause it was clogging it up during testing.
There are some games that have stamina and health, but don’t show it on the ui, cause it feels more realistic in my opinion.
I might stick to having no health bar, but if I have an entity that does do mild damage or something (which there are a few, but aren’t said to be in the game) then I’ll consider it. For now, I’m not sure.
Yeah, it probably won’t distort the screen, but I could have an overlay that can dim the screen or add affects on top to show different affects on the player.
I did something like that for an old game where it was based on an old plasma TVs that was playing an old vhs tape. How it has the lines going across the screen. So it probably won’t be too difficult to do.
I do plan on getting indie. As cheesy as it sounds. I may only get indie for a single month, just to polish up my games (maybe add indie only behaviors like the camera effects) and then export the games.
