The Scepter Foundation - Refraction

The menu is only half done. I plan to redo the text and the title. I’m still unsure of the new name for the game. Maybe the Site: 012 incident, but I’m not sure.

Oh, boy, @DWGAMEMASTER is not gonna like that, lol. I do kinda like the idea of the Site: 012 incident, though

THATS SO COOL!

Tbh the stamina goes out really fast.

Yeah, the main character literally lives in an office, so I wouldn’t be surprised that he’s a little out of shape, lol.

Also it does slowly regenerate over time, but it generates insanely fast when you are just standing still.
There could be an entity object that gives the player infinite stamina.

Items?

Or if you drink coffee you could get a 10 second boost.

Also maybe when you get an item it makes you stamina go out more slowly. (Permanently)

I want to have some items that trade certain abilities. Like one could make you almost invulnerable your death, but you lose your stamina or something.

That’s a good idea, I don’t think I’ve seen games have that.

I might end up doing that with powerful items. Like I could have one that allows you gain a powerful ability like walk through walls or something, but will slowly drain your health. Which could give a reason for a health bar or something.

Maybe “The Table” could have like a 1 out of 1000 chance to get that powerful item?

Also I love the new art style.

I do plan on doing this. But it will be a guaranteed chance if you give something of high value to you. Subject: 007 will usually give you something at random from within 300 meters of its location which any random item of bargain. Which means you find a random nail or something, Subject: 007 will give you a random object. Which the chances of it being a good item would be pretty slim.

But if you give Subject: 007 an item that is important to you, it will repay you handsomely with something of equal value or higher.

One possibly drop from Subject: 007 will be some sort of Titan keycard which only unlocks a specific room that isn’t even recorded in Site: 012. In other words, it really doesn’t exist. The room leads to another entity which will be the machine that can turn you into an entity as well. Making you super powerful and you can kill anything you want.

Although this ending will be very hard to get, but I do plan on adding this.

I’m probably gonna go ahead and just have a single medkit in the game, now that I realize I most likely will be using a feature that probably won’t display an exact health bar, but will show you health in other means, such as screen effects and stuff.

Since both medkits would help aid relief, they both will technically heal you of most injuries or effects you may gain in the Facility so there’s no use in having two different ones.

Although I’m still not entirely sure on different entity items yet, I have a few ideas and concepts, but not sure of the details.

One item I just thought of could be A Thieving Tool. (Possible Subject: 011?) It would be a key that can mimic just about every key you can think of, including keycards down to simple door keys. The only key it physically can’t mimic would be the titan keycard which the door it goes to was made specifically for the purpose of the entity from mimicking it.

Like I said before the door the titan card would go into leads to the machine (Possible Subject: 010?) which has the power to turn organic and non-organic matter into weird anomalies. But anything that it makes can be placed back into the machine and it will strip away the powers it gave, or completely evaporate the entity all together. Anything that enters can experience anything between death, cellular reconstruction, to physical to phycological affects. The Foundation is unsure of its full properties and how it is able to turn objects and organic material into weird anomalous entities. The power source is unknown since the machine’s architecture and material makeup is similar to that of Subject: 003, which is ancient and yet far advanced beyond current technology. So deconstruction of the machine to see what its made of is currently impossible.

Alright, since some people voted on Short Stories on the poll I hosted when I first created this discussion. I wasn’t for sure what all I was going to do for this since I don’t want to post the entire 11 page story on here, but I think a summary would be too vague, but it’s about all I can do.

Anyway Incident-009-05:

“A team of SCU (Scepter Containment Units), lead by Commander Jack Melton, headed into a small farmhouse located in [Redacted] Alaska. Upon arrival they quickly examined the area and split off into two separate teams. The first team, Melton guided into the house while the second team was to do recon around the house. While inside the house, Melton heard gunshots and his team quickly evacuated outside to find everyone dead almost instantly with black acidic substance covering the ground. When he returned to the vans they were slowly sinking into the black acid as if it was an endless well.

Melton noticed a strange entity enter the garage through the wall where there wasn’t even a door, so they gathered around the garage to all entered inside. When they entered the littered garage there was nothing to see except a Ceramic Skull which didn’t seem to belong. Upon study, there was a black outline on the shelf around the skull that looked of that of a person. Then the Skull rose up and formed a shadowy body around itself and started attacking the remaining soldiers. The team left the garage, losing a soldier on the way as they continued raining bullets on the entity, which didn’t seem to have any effect on it, since it just bounced off of the skull, despite it being made of ceramic, and it just melted into its acidic body.

Melton retreated behind a structure to reload his weapon until he saw one of his teammates ripped in half by the entity, which causes him to start running to find better cover. The gunshots could be heard in the distance, but soon ceased. While Melton continued running through the maze of random tractors, snow mobiles, and sheds, he was hit in the side and flung out into a snowy plain. He tried moving, but his right arm was completely melted off and his left arm was broken. All he heard was footsteps coming up from behind him and soon the snow stopped falling.”

This is kind of a poor summary since I haven’t read the story in a bit so the details are a bit hazy, but that’s basically how the story goes, except in much more detail and more enjoyable to read.

I also added a quote at the end of the story:

“I don’t wish to go back. Not if he’s still there.”

You can interpret it how you like, but is adds to the lore. You can try guessing what it’s supposed to mean, or who says it. And yes it is a character from the story.

This isn’t much of an update, but I did promise I would post stuff on here about Subject Documents and stuff. Also sorry if the story itself is terrible and a pain to read. I just slapped the summary together pretty quick in between classes so it’s not the best, but it does basically describe what happened.
I also have another short story which is Incident-003-01. Which is based on Subject: 003. If the numbers in the title haven’t given it away yet.

Sadly I’m most likely gonna push back community creations because I’m currently in need of specific subjects for the game. But I will get to it eventually so don’t worry.

Welp, R.I.P multiple people who made these creations, like Foil Man, and Blood Knight.

Well, it’s not that I don’t like your creations, It’s just that I’ve been super busy to actually make official documents cause once an entity has been fully detailed out to fit the lore then I’ll assign them an official subject number. Which the number is just a quick reference to an entity so it’s not really special, but is quite important.

Even the ones I stated above such as The Thieving Tool and the machine that can turn you into an entity don’t have an official number yet. I’ve just assigned them the next two numbers into he list because of just a quick reference for now.
