i’m not participating because i got burnt out on the game and also because of the deadline change, personally i think it would’ve been a MUCH better decision to extend the deadline as shortening it screws up everyone’s plans

The Game Jam is shorten by one day, why would there be a problem with people´s plans?
Plus you still have the rest of Nov 18. Unless the deadline is Nov 18 early in the morning.
